Celebs are scrutinized by people and the media day & night, and if they don't have thick skin, then it could become too upsetting for them to deal with any criticism and hurtful comments.
Unless you're legendary Egyptian actor Omar sharif of course!
In an interview with Enas Al Dughaidi on “Al Jari'ah” (The Daring), the actor said that he has reached a point in his life where nothing bothers him anymore. He lives in the moment.
The 81-year-old actor told Enas that due to his old age, he tends to forget a lot of things, which is the reason to why he doesn't think of the past or future, but purely of the present.
Omar added that he's a tough nut with a daring personality; as a kid he worked with his father in the wood merchandising industry, before entering the acting world.
He admitted hat he didn't even finish his studies. Well, he did oh-so-well for someone who's dropped out of school!
Moving onto politics, that's one thing the actor hasn't forgotten about! Omar said that during the Egyptian January 25 Revolution, he resided in a hotel overlooking Tahrir Square, where the protests took place. The actor said that he made it a point to always greet the demonstrators from his balcony.
When asked about where his loyalties lie, Omar said: “I'm 100% behind the people.” Omar proudly said that he's been to so many countries but has never seen a nation like the Egyptian one, who went to hell and back until reaching breaking point and saying enough is enough.
As for the gossip on Omar's love life, the bachelor said that the only woman he's ever been married to was an Egyptian, and that he couldn't imagine marrying a woman from any other nationality, hence why he never remarried again.
