Nancy Ajram was the reigning champ of Facebook, boasting more likes on the social networking site than any other Arab artist. As of this week, however, fellow Lebanese performer Elissa has surpassed the sweetheart songstress with over 18 million likes and counting.
The "Aa Baly Habibi" hit maker announced her new status as most followed singer with a Facebook post. "+18M Likes #Elissa's Official #Fb page.. Most liked & most talked about Arabic artist #Fb ... Thanks For All Of You," she shared.
With Ajram trailing behind by only a hair of 59,220 likes, it's uncertain how long Elissa will stay queen of Facebook, but the 43-year-old star sure seems to be enjoying the moment on top.
Having already sold over 30 million albums and possessing a packed-out award case with plaques and trophies from events around the globe like the World Music Awards, the X Factor judge doesn't really need another reason to brag. She sure doesn't seem to mind, though!
