Disputes broke out once more between Egyptian actresses Elham Shahin and Nadia Al Jundi over the new TV series “Nijmet Al Jamaheer” (Super Star) Elham is taking part in. Nadia claims that the film is about her and tackles her life since she is the one who won the award for number one actress.
According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, Elham expressed that the film has nothing to do with Nadia and the latter has no right to argue such a case. The film revolves around the life of an actress who has reached top stardom, but throughout her journey of success encounters several problems that end her career and life at the end. Most of the scenes of the film are shot in different places around Egypt and France.
Previously, Shahin accused Nadia of buying her award for best actress along with most of the awards she won in the past. Elham said that Nadia has a habit of pressuring and manipulating judges in order to receive awards, which are not rightfully hers. Elham added that the award Nadia received in Lebanon for best actress in the film "Ishtar" is the biggest proof. The judges awarded Nadia as the best actress for the film before it reached them. Elham's anger towards Nadia was when the latter said that Elham's role in the film (Al Raghba) (Desire) was a complimentary one which held no real significance.
Elham is currently experiencing a very hectic schedule in which she is taking part in different acting jobs. The actress has added to her already busy schedule a leading role in the new play "Striptease" which is scheduled to begin showing next season. Elham will at first complete the filming of her upcoming film "Kan Youm Hubak" (It Was Your Love One Day) alongside Egyptian actor Ahmad Zaki, then will move on to begin rehearsing for the new play.
Shahin is for the first time throughout her career taking part in different TV drama series and other acting jobs at the same time. The actress expressed that each work is different in its own way from the other, stressing she did not want to miss out on the opportunity of enriching her career.
The two TVries Elham is starring in are “Mas’alat Mabda” (A Matter of Principle), and “Nijmat Al Jamaheer”. Her role in each is entirely different from the other and at the same time both give her the chance to show the audience her capabilities as an actress. - Albawaba.com
