Exactly one year ago, Egyptian actress Dina el Sherbini was convicted for possession of drugs in Cairo.
The incident took place in a Zamalek (area in Cairo) apartment last Nov, when Dina was found with her friend in his apartment attempting to smuggle the Class-A drug cocaine.
Dina's friend was fined 200,000 Egyptian pounds and given a life sentence in jail.
Now, after deservedly serving a one-year sentence, Dina has been released from jail and even made her first public appearance!
The actress was spotted in a photo with Egyptian composer Salah Hussni Sony and their friends, which he posted on his Facebook page, reported Sayidaty.net.
Last year we had to ask: Will anyone hire her now?
Well, just like the troubled Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan, Dina received an acting offer despite having a criminal record attached to her name!
Director Hani Khalifa is giving Dina a starring role in his upcoming film "Sukkar Mur" (Bitter Sugar), which he had postponed until her release.
Ironically, the film revolves around a group of young people who go through many emotional troubles that change their lives. They later go on a quest to find their true selves.
Maybe Dina can learn a lesson or two from this movie's plot!
