ALBAWABA - Diddy was arrested at a Manhattan hotel amid serious federal charges, with his lawyer addressing the situation and defending his client's mental state.
In the latest developments in Diddy's case, TMZ released the first video of his arrest, which showed him wearing a black coat and entering the Park Hyatt New York Hotel in midtown Manhattan with his crew of several men, but as soon as he entered the hotel lobby, law enforcement officers pounced, stopped him, and separated him from his friends.
However, despite being under surveillance at the Metropolitan Detention Center in New York City, his lawyer, Mark Agnifilo, told TMZ that the surveillance directive was simply a standard practice for "new high-level inmates" and that he is not a "suicide."
Agnifilo said that Diddy, who is now a criminal defendant, was "not suicidal at all" after spending six hours with him on Thursday when he was in federal detention.
Actually, according to Agnifilo, his client was "focused on his defense, strong, healthy, and confident."
A law enforcement official reports that Combs remains alone in the special housing section of the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn until his arraignment. If found guilty, Combs could spend the rest of his life behind bars.
Homeland Security Investigations recently took Diddy into custody at a Manhattan hotel after numerous lawsuits alleging sexual assault and a federal investigation into people trafficking last year.
Mark Agnifilo, Combs's attorney, said CNN's Kaitlan Collins on Tuesday night that his client was unlikely to accept a plea bargain. "I believe he is innocent of the charges; I believe he will go to trial, and I believe he will prevail," he said.
