American singer, songwriter and dancer Jason Derulo fired up an audience of adoring fans at Fouad Chehab Stadium Monday evening, the closing show of the Jounieh International Festival. He brought his boundless energy, high-flying backup dancers, and Jae Murphy, his personal DJ, for an infectious night of his greatest hits.
Derulo, 26, presented a well-rounded show, his famed vocal range complemented by slickly choreographed routines along with eye-catching stage effects.
From the minute he stormed the stage with his 2014 anthem “Trumpets,” everything during the show progressed from bigger to bolder. This is where Derulo’s performance excelled, taking the audience through a hip-hop and R&B roller-coaster ride through his hits from early tracks like “Ridin’ Solo” and “In My Head” to his platinum singles “Wiggle” and current No. 1 hit “Get Ugly.”
Derulo modestly referred to his concert as “the hottest party in Lebanon” and promised to make the show “the hottest party in the world.” The performer delivered on his promise with a thoroughly enjoyable performance featuring something for all ages and music genres.
