It was the most hotly-anticipated show of Paris Fashion Week and, once again, the Balmain presentation didn't disappoint.

The luxury French brand's creative director, Olivier Rousteing, got a host of his A-list pals to model his autumn/winter 2016 designs, including Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss, Jourdan Dunn, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Lily Donaldson, Joan Smalls and Lindsey Wixson.

However, despite the star-studded line-up, the girls failed to crack a smile and looked rather miserable as they flaunted the unseasonally colourful wares.

Kendall rocked what appeared to be a blonde wig complete with roots, which was similar to the one recently worn by sister Kim Kardashian.

The flamboyant outfit featured a feathered bodice, floor-sweeping cape and over-the-knee pastel hued boots.

London-born stunner Jourdan Dunn kept her natural hair colour and dazzled in a blush pink mini dress complete with a metallic gold belt and super-high boots. The 25-year-old mother-of-one kept her make-up simple, helping to showcase her natural beauty.

Former Victoria's Secret model Karlie Kloss sported one of the most jaw-dropping looks of the season.

The 23-year-old businesswoman donned a cleavage-boosting corset, sheer lace trousers that had frill detailing down the sides and a satin cape.

Adding even more interest to her unusual get-up, Taylor Swift's best friend had a large plastic choker tied around her neck.

Meanwhile, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Lily Donaldson also had their famous glossy blonde tresses hidden underneath dark raven wigs.

Jason Statham's 28-year-old fiancée looked unrecognisable with her long locks styled in a striking centre parting.

Rosie modelled a high-necked sheer top complete with ornate gold embellishments, a black mini skirt with bead detailing and black tights.

Lily, 29, from London, channelled the ultimate femme fatale in a bodycon black dress with cut-out detailing on the shoulders and pretty frills across the bust.

Brazilian model Alessandra Ambrosio made her way onto the runway in a netted candyfloss pink top with frills along the sleeves and lace trousers, which revealed her large underpants.

The 34-year-old's iconic brunette curls were also ditched in favour of a lighter shade.

Following the show, which also include Joan Smalls, Binx Walton, Sara Sampaio and Lindsey Wixson, creative director Olivier Rousteing made his way onto the stage to loud cheers and applause from the crowd.

Rousteing is also just as popular behind the scenes as he is on the FROW, and his star-studded line-up is down to the fact that Karlie, Rosie, Gigi and Kendall are his friends.

The 25-year-old designer has something of a reputation for maxmimalism, not one to shy away from piling on the details with ruffles, pearls and fringing. This was evident in Gigi Hadid's floor-length gown that was dripping in pearls, and Kendall Jenner's laced-up fur corset.

While the collection received a rousing review from the FROW, it had a mix reception from the fashion press.

Style commentator Simon Glazin told FEMAIL: 'Since taking over the House of Balmain in 2011, Olivier Rousteing has done some marvelous things. Not least, dressing Cher head-to-toe in his monochrome diamond print, but also carrying on the uber luxe vibe of the brand with aplomb.

'The problem now though, is where does he go from here?

'Unfortunately, the most remarkable thing to happen in this latest show is that Kendall wore blonde hair, and Gigi went brunette. The clothes came second.
