Dubai’s fireworks need no introduction. From captivating displays on Eid to record-breaking spectacles on New Year’s Eve, this city’s penchant for pyrotechnics is a world-renowned affair. Thanks to Saudi National Day on 23 September, Dubai has another occasion to brighten up the skies with shows at The Pointe (8:30pm) on The Palm Jumeirah and The Beach by JBR (9pm).
Bring your loved ones for free festivities and secure the perfect vantage point with these top viewing spots.
If you’re at The Beach
By the water
Unsurprisingly, the best view for this location is right along the coast. Arrive early as it’s likely to get busy and secure a comfortable spot by the water. Turn it into a family picnic with a blanket to sit on and delicious food from nearby restaurants to keep your stomach and eyes full of joy.
Waterfront restaurants
While JBR is a rolling avenue of appetising restaurants, some of its best eateries rest along The Beach. Book a table at waterfront restaurants like Seven Sands, Shake Shack or Catch 22 to guarantee a space to sit, relax and enjoy the show. Ensure that your table faces the water for an unobstructed view.
Sky-high seats
Get eye-level with the fireworks at one of JBR or Dubai Marina’s beach-facing rooftops. Turn the occasion into an excuse for a night out with friends at trendy nightlife spots like Pure Sky Lounge in Hilton Dubai The Walk, which has a fabulous view overlooking The Beach on one side. Or you can also head to Sama Lounge, which offers a narrow but satisfying view of the fireworks over the sea.
Beach venues
If you want your beachside fireworks but less of the crowd, we recommend checking out places like Drift Beach Dubai and Jetty Lounge. While these spots might be a little away from the action, you can get clear views of the show while enjoying their laid-back atmosphere and a delectable selection of food and beverages.
From the sea
Head across from The Beach and catch Saudi National Day fireworks from Bluewaters Island. This appendage to JBR offers some of the best vantage points of the fireworks, and you’ll get unbeatable pictures with Dubai’s skyline in the background. You can even head to the pedestrian walkway connecting the two destinations for prime visibility. An alternative option for the really dedicated is charting a yacht from Dubai Exotic Yacht or Athena Charter Yacht, catching the show from the water.
If you’re at The Pointe
Dinner with a view
The Pointe is a buzzing lifestyle destination home to a wide selection of restaurants. Call ahead and reserve a table at one of its water-facing eateries like Seafood Kitchen and TGI Fridays, or grab a warm cup of specialty coffee at % Arabica for a fabulous and flavoursome view of the show.
Along the edge
Keep your Saudi National Day celebrations fun and free of charge with a standing view along The Pointe’s edge. The promenade offers uninterrupted views of the fireworks and fabulous photo opts with Atlantis The Palm in the background.
Across the water
The Palm Jumeirah’s unique architecture means you can see The Pointe’s fireworks from across the water along Crescent Drive. Dubai’s iconic Atlantis The Palm sits right across the site, but for guaranteed views, head to the hotel’s pool and beachside restaurant, The Edge, or Imperial Beach. Although a little distant, you can also enjoy views of Saudi National Day celebrations from Sofitel The Palm, where the cool Laguna Lounge and tropical Maui Beach Restaurant offer angles of The Pointe.
