ALBAWABA - The Syrian Artists Syndicate/ Damascus branch announced on Sunday the death of prominent artist Ahmed Khalifa in the Syrian capital at the age of 81.
The syndicate posted on its Facebook page: "The Damascus branch of the Artists Syndicate mourns the passing of our esteemed colleague, artist Ahmed Khalifa. We will inform you later of the funeral and burial arrangements and the date for condolences."
The late artist had a prolific career spanning decades, working across film, television, and radio.

Sources close to the family confirmed that the death of renowned Syrian artist Ahmed Khalifa was due to a sudden and serious health crisis he suffered in recent days.
Following a deterioration in his condition, he was urgently transferred to a Damascus hospital for treatment and observation. However, he passed away, leaving behind an unforgettable artistic legacy.
Career of Ahmed Khalifa:
Throughout his career, he participated in numerous works that significantly impacted Syrian drama, most notably the film "Dreams of a City," as well as popular series such as "Zurafa'a Walakin," "Dunya," "Bab Al-Hara," "Yawmiyat Mudir Aam," "Asaad Al-Warraq," "Jamil and Hana," and "A'ilat 6 Nujoum," among others, that left a fingerprint on Syrian drama.
