Do people really think it's funny to spread such rumors? Well, it's not!

Only last week a rumor spread that Arab Idol winner Mohammad Assaf had been murdered. This week, social networks were bombarded with a link to the supposed assassination of Syrian Farah Youssef, Assaf's runner-up on the talent show.

According to Sayidaty.net, the rumor had it that Farah was holding an interview with Al Arabiya TV, when a bomb struck the building; ending her life immediately.

Yet again, the prank was a computer virus that strikes once the link is clicked. How mature!

The aspiring singer was criticized by fans for appearing on a network that opposes the Syrian regime.

Farah hit back at critics by explaining that on the contrary, she appeared on a channel that's popularly watched by all Arabs to discuss the two-and-a-half year suffering witnessed in Syria.

Once season two of 'Arab Idol' ended, Farah returned home to her family and took some pix, which she immediately posted on her Twitter account, with the caption: "I've reached my dear country and have been busy with family and friends; but my fans are all in my heart."

Relieved to hear you're alive and kicking Farah!
