Spy Kids star Alexa PenaVega is a mom for the third time.

The actress' husband Carlos PenaVega shared the news on Instagram on Monday that the couple's daughter had arrived, albeit a little earlier than expected.

'SO.. we’ve been MIA these last few days. Let’s just say we learned once again that God is always in control. You may have a PLAN for your life, but all that really matters is HIS plan. Little Rio could not wait to come out and play with her brothers!' the singer shared.

Posting a black and white photo of the newborn's tiny hand reaching out to her parents' hands, Carlos explained that the infant is currently in the hospital NICU as a result of her premature arrival.

He wrote: 'Momma is feeling good and baby girl is kicking some serious booty in the NICU. Praying we can all be home together very soon! What a wave of emotions.'

He went on to praise his wife, calling her 'a champ' and adding: 'I could never do what you do. The best momma to our 2 boys and now little girl. Thank you for being a solid rock for this family.'

Alex and Carlos married in 2014 and welcomed their sons Ocean and Kingston in December 2016 and June 2019 respectively.

They are currently raising their family in Hawaii.

In February, the couple revealed they were expecting their first girl and in March Alexa shared they had chosen the name Rio for her.

Alexa, 32, found fame as a child star, playing the young version of Helen Hunt's character in the movie Twister and going on to get roles in hit TV shows like ER, The Bernie  Mac Show and Ghost Whisperer.

She became internationally famous after Robert Rodriguez cast her as Carmen Cortez in 2001's Spy Kids. She reprised the role in 2002's Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams and 2003's Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over.

Carlos, 31, also found fame at a young age in the Nickelodeon-signed pop group Big Time Rush in 2009, after also having had parts in TV shows such as ER and Judging Amy.
