ALBAWABA - The last concert by Aerosmith was last night. Steven Tyler's "recovery from his vocal injury is not possible," the band said on Friday; hence, they're formally retiring from touring and canceling all remaining performance appearances.

The band's official X account revealed their "heartbreaking" decision to stop performing on Friday, stating that vocalist Steven Tyler's voice has not fully recovered.

Aerosmith was born out of a single, innocuous idea in 1970. We owe it all to you, the Blue Army, for igniting a fire that has endured for more than half a century. You all helped us make rock 'n' roll history, and some of you have been with us since the beginning "Long message.

Having our music become a part of yours has been an honor beyond words. You have included us in your life soundtrack at every club, huge tour, and private and public event. Additionally, the statement said that their goal has always been to "blow your mind" during performances.

They had already begun what was supposed to be their last tour, the "Peace Out... Farewell Tour," when they decided to call it quits after their last performance in Elmont, New York, on September 9, 2023. Originally scheduled to run until February 2024, the group postponed and cancelled all but three concerts, including that tragic last performance, shortly thereafter.

Prior to the postponed farewell tour, the band had been performing live, including a residency at Las Vegas's Dolby Live at Park MGM and a local gig at Boston's Fenway Park in celebration of their 50th anniversary last year.

The band seems to have long since retired from recording, but the statement fails to indicate whether there is any chance that Tyler can overcome his troubles to the point where new records are possible. In 2012, they released their most recent album, "Music From Another Dimension!" After that, in 2016, Tyler released a solo album.
