The entertainment world was in shock to hear the sudden news of a divorce between Egyptian actor Mahmoud Al Jundi and actress Abla Kamel. The divorce came only after two years of marriage and was done in complete secrecy in the hope that it will not be published all over the tabloids.
Only close contacts of the couple knew of the divorce, which Abla and Mahmoud refused to reveal the reasons behind their sudden decision to separate. The couple stressed that not every marriage is destined to last and if a couple find it better not to continue with one another then it is their prerogative and no one should interfere.
It was rumored that Abla had been thinking of wearing the Islamic headdress Hijab once she completes the shooting of her upcoming film “Seedi Al Atifi”, which she stars in alongside Egyptian singer Tamer Husni.
On a similar note, was Mahmoud once accused of being secretly married for twelve years. The actor tried every means possible to keep the issue of his secret marriage unknown to the public saying it’s a private issue and is of no ones business. The Arab magazine Sayidaty was able to get its hands on the lawsuit papers filed by his wife (Rasha) in secrecy that demanded acknowledgment for her and her son.
Rasha, who comes from a wealthy family, is a beautiful young lady who was a one of Mahmoud's fans. She had at the time agreed to marry Mahmoud not caring about the legality of the matter or making it public.
The couple had lived in bliss for some time up to the point when they had their baby daughter. At this point, Rasha demanded that Mahmoud make their secret marriage public and officially announce it. The actor refused, causing a series of problems that led to court. Rasha demand a divorce from Mahmoud, but he refused. The reason behind Mahmoud's insistence on keeping the matter a secret and his strong refusal of making a public announcement are not known.
