He passed away in 1977.
And in 2021, Mohammed Shabana has revealed that they had to open his dad and uncle Abdel Halim Hafez's tombs in order to move the remains of their bodies because of the underground water.
Luckily, when they opened their tombs, they found them in good condition as rocks acted as a shield and prevented water from getting in.
In an exclusive interview with Youm7, Mohammed said: 'I went to the Fatwa House to transfer my father and uncle Abdel Halim Hafez's bodies because of the underground water. We brought experts and engineers, but we found that the water did not enter because of the rocks, but we preferred to transport them.'
In another shocking revelation, Shabana said: 'Few shaikhs went down and entered the tombs, then they called out for me and told me that I should see this myself.'
'I entered Abdel Halim Hafez's tomb and saw something beautiful. I saw my uncle sleeping with his iconic black hair and his cheeks, nose, ears and everything as it is without being decomposed.'
When I asked the people who knew him about this occurance, they told me that he used to do a lot of charity secretly and never talked about it.
Abdel Halim Hafez had passed away on March 30, 1977 in London at the age of 47. The main cause of death was contaminated donated blood with hepatitis C virus, in addition of previous diagnosis of cirrhosis caused by an infection with schistosomiasis from a young age.
