Fans went chaos after waiting for three hours for the famous Saudi singer Mohammad Abdo to perform, only to realize that show was cancelled, minutes before going on stage to perform. Mohammad Abdo’s sponsor ran off with the ticket money, of which a quarter was donated to help the handicapped.
According to the London based Al Sharq Al Awsat daily, Abdo was to meet with the sponsor at his hotel suite minutes before the concert. After waiting for sometime the singer realized that the sponsor turned out to be a crook and had ran off. At that time Abdo refused to perform. The daily also said that the Dubai police force are now on the lookout for the Syrian sponsor who stole the concert ticket proceeds and is no where to be found.
Over 1500 people attended the event that never took place, who are demanding that they be reimbursed for the ticket fees. The Dubai police department managed to return some of the ticket money to the attendees.
Mohammed Abdo surprised everyone earlier last month announcing his separation from his wife, Umm Noura, after a 20-year marriage.
Several Saudi daily newspapers reported that the singer separated from his wife after unbearable fights the two were having over the past several years. After friends and relatives failed to reconcile the two, Abdo divorced his wife and married a young girl, whose name has not been revealed.
