ALBAWABA A video claiming to document the moment an American diver found an old copy of the Quran in the depths of the sea has circulated on social media. But is this claim true? And what is the reality behind what appears in the video?

The video recorded at the bottom of the sea shows a person carrying a box found among the rocks. Then, another video appears featuring a person speaking about a rare copy of the Quran.

According to a report from "Agence France-Presse" addressing the authenticity of a video circulating on social media, it was revealed that the footage belonged to a diver who discovered a box containing human remains, not a Quran.

The individual behind the video channel clarified in 2019 that the box contained the remains of a deceased person found underwater.

Regarding the second Video a person presenting a Quran, it was identified as a publication from 2015. In the video, he claimed to discuss the oldest English-translated version of the Quran printed in Britain in 1734.

This snippet was then amalgamated with another unrelated clip featuring discussion about a different Quran manuscript. The amalgamation was seemingly orchestrated to promote the notion that the box contained a rare Quranic manuscript dating back to the 18th century.
