The Sharia Criminal Court convicted a Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) national to a six-month jail term on three charges and acquitted him on another five counts.

The court sentenced M.A.S, a government official, on charges of arresting a person, insulting people in public and indulging in assault.

However, he got a clean chit for kidnapping, endangering the lives of people, issuing threats, causing cruelty, and exploiting his position as a government official due to lack of evidence.
