ALBAWABA - French local news website Le Parisien reported on Sunday that 11 bags from the luxurious brand Hermès were stolen from the sister-in-law of the Emir of Qatar on board a TGV train.

Le Parisien cited a police source that 11 Hermès bags were taken from the sister-in-law of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani while she was on a TGV train from Nice to Paris on July 27.

The police in France launched an investigation into the incident to catch the thieves. In detail, the woman was onboard a train at Cannes station; coming from Nice and heading to Paris Gare de Lyon when she discovered that her bags were missing.

According to sources, the sister-in-law of Qatari Emir said that between 12:00 p.m. and 1:40 p.m., she noticed that 11 Hermès bags had been stolen while she was accompanied by her domestic worker.

Le Parisien continued that the bags contained "highly valuable personal effects". A search was carried out by the police on the train for less than half an hour, but nothing was found.
