ALBAWABA On Wednesday, Jordan commemorates a significant milestone - the Silver Jubilee, marking the 25th year of His Majesty King Abdullah's reign.
Proclaimed as King on February 7, 1999, His Majesty embarked on a transformative journey of reforms across various spheres encompassing political, social, economic, and administrative domains.
Under His Majesty's leadership, Jordan has witnessed remarkable advancements, driven by an "ongoing modernization process."
Notably, comprehensive reforms have reshaped political life, economic structures, educational systems, and technological landscapes.
These reforms, propelled by the Royal Committee to Modernize the Political System, have ushered in new laws governing elections and political parties, alongside constitutional amendments that established the Independent Election Commission.
King Abdullah's commitment extends beyond legislative changes; he actively engages with citizens across the Kingdom, personally visiting various areas to listen to their concerns and aspirations.
Moreover, as the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, he prioritizes the welfare and enhancement of conditions for military and security personnel.
In line with Jordan's historical custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, His Majesty continues to preserve and protect these sites, underscoring the nation's religious and historical responsibilities.
Furthermore, he advocates for the centrality of the Palestinian issue and endeavors towards achieving a just and comprehensive peace through the two-state solution, while also seeking political resolutions to regional crises and promoting stability in the Middle East.
