ALBAWABA - Captain Razin Muhammad Al-Doski has made history by becoming the first Iraqi woman to achieve the status of an airplane pilot. She accomplished this achievement by successfully conducting her first flight on an Iraqi Airways plane, traveling from Baghdad to Dubai.

In a special ceremony held at Baghdad International Airport, Captain Razin was honored by the Iraqi Minister of Transport, Razzaq Al-Saadawi. She was recognized for her promotion to the high position of plane captain within the crew of the national carrier, marking a big achievement for women in Iraq.

Hailing from Dohuk Governorate in Iraq's north, Captain Razin, an Iraqi Kurd, embarked on her aviation journey in 2014 while studying in the Jordanian capital of Amman. Following her training and education, she joined Iraqi Airways in 2017, where she piloted a Boeing B737-800 aircraft and steadily progressed in her career.

Captain Razin has piloted numerous flights to various places, including the United States of America, showcasing her skill in her profession. It is worth noting that Captain Razin is married to another pilot, who provides her with unwavering support along with her family.

Breaking stereotypes in what is a male-dominated field, and by being the first Iraqi woman to do it, Captain Razin is now another example of the growing presence of women in the aviation work field. Her success will surely both inspire and pave the way for other Iraqi women hoping to enter the field of aircraft piloting one day.
