There have been several reports of a lion roaming the streets of Hafr Al-Batin, resulting in the deployment of hundreds of police officers to search for the animal.
The police closed several roads in Al-Murouj in Hafr Al-Batin, but failed to find the animal. Some believe that the reports are only rumors because it comes in the wake of a Kuwaiti man being killed by a lioness at a rest house in the region.
Keeping wild animals as pets, especially lions and tigers, has grown in popularity in recent years in the Gulf states despite authorities warning against the practice.
