An American teen injured in the explosions that rocked Brussels on Tuesday was already a survivor of the November attacks on Paris and the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, ABC reported.

Mason Wells, 19, was at the Brussels airport with two other American Mormon missionaries helping other missionaries check into their flights to travel to the US.

His father, Chad Wells, told ABC that Mason was basically at "ground zero" of the blast at the airport, but that he was being treated for his injuries and was hopeful that he would make a full recovery.

The teenager suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon, shrapnel wounds, and second- and third-degree burns to his face.

"This is the third time that sadly in our society that we have a connection to a bomb blast," Chad Wells told ABC. "We live in a dangerous world and not everyone is kind and loving."

Mason Wells was also present during the Paris attacks that killed 130 people, and was a block away from the bombing at the Boston Marathon, where he was waiting for his mother, who was running in the race.

Of his son's third brush with danger, Wells said, "He was blessed significantly by God. We see a blessing by this, not a terrible curse."
