A fire broke out Wednesday at a petrol station in the southeastern Hasbaya district, injuring three, a security source said.
The state-run National News Agency reported that the blaze caught at a petrol station owned by a man from the prominent Jumblatt family. Civil Defense firefighters rushed to the scene to extinguish the blaze, the source said. The NNA reported at 10 a.m. that the fire had spread to nearby houses and that the efforts of Civil Defense firefighters had not contained the blaze.
A large plume of dark smoke could be seen rising into the sky from the site.
