Police urge motorists to follow traffic rules and regulations and pay attention to the road.

One person was killed and five others sustained minor to moderate injuries in a six-vehicle collision in Abu Dhabi on Saturday night.

The pile-up took place near Musaffah Bridge due to tailgating, according to Abu Dhabi Police.

Police said the injured were rushed to the nearest hospital.

According to initial investigations, the crash was attributed to not paying attention to the road, speeding and failure to leave sufficient distance between cars, said Lt. Col Musallam Al-Junaibi, Head of the Accident Investigations Department at the Traffic and Patrols Directorate.

Al-Juneibi has urged motorists to always abide by traffic rules and regulations including driving under the prescribed speed limits, leaving sufficient distance between cars and staying attentive while driving to avoid crashes.
