Sheikh Abdulrahman Mohammad Hassan Mohammad, the head of Advocacy at the Salafist Ansar al Sunnah al Muhammadiyah Society, in Al Sharqiya District opined that kissing Al Sisi on the head is a must by Sharia (this is his Fatwa).
The Society publicized the fatwa on electoral posters which they hung up around nearby villages and cities.
The Sheikh said that kissing Al Sisi’s head is necessary and mandatory for all Egyptian citizens, as Sisi was behind getting rid of sedition in the country which was originally caused by the Muslim Brotherhood when they briefly ruled Egypt.
The Sheikh didn’t specifically say what evidence he based his fatwa on or why it’s about kissing his head specifically, but he stated that approved jurisprudence/hadith/Quran supports his fatwa.
This was part of Al Salafi Hezb El Nour’s promotional campaign for Sisi as President.
Sources within the Salafist advocacy have said that many of their members have decided to boycott the movement/advocacy, and have also stopped caring about what Sheikhs believe in and say.
They said that they believe the Sheikhs need to move away from politics and that they’ve wandered away from the right path and the right teachings that have been embedded in their brains over the years.
Meanwhile, some reports have said that the exiled President Morsi has said that those Sheikhs and the Salafists are only supporting Sisi because they’re afraid of him and of going to prison and that they wouldn’t get more than 5% in MP elections or have an important role in government otherwise.
According to those reports Morsi told one of his guards: “Do you actually believe that those are real elections? there aren’t any elections. There’s going to be a different kind of talks, there’s going to be a new President, he’s coming and people won’t leave him alone.”
Morsi added: “The current regime is going to negotiate with the Brotherhood immediately after the elections over the release of those imprisoned for violence charges which we weren’t a part of, and will negotiate us stopping any involvement in politics, which won’t happen anyway.”
