This following an announcement made earlier by Sheikh Mohammed on the space mission.
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre has issued a statement taken by Dubai Media Office regarding the date of the first Emirati astronaut's space flight.
"The first Emirati astronaut's space flight will be for 10 days to launch in April of 2019 on the Soyouz MS-12 Russian spacecraft, to land on the International Space Station.
"The return flight will be made on the Soyouz MS-12 spacecraft. The first Emirati astronaut's training will begin next month."
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, issued a statement on his official twitter account regarding the UAE's progress on sending its first Emirati astronaut to space on Wednesday.
