Israeli forces raided the town of Yatta south of Hebron on Friday and handed a summons for interrogation to a local family for a man who has been incarcerated for the past three years, locals said.
Local official Rateb al-Jubur said that Israeli forces raided the home of Omar Muhammad Suleiman Awwad, searched it, and delivered a notice for his son, Muhammad, to meet with Israeli intelligence for interrogation next Tuesday.
The man's son, however, is currently incarcerated, and has been in Israeli custody for the past three years.
The incident suggested a potential disconnect between the Israeli prison authorities and intelligence records.
More than 5,500 Palestinians are currently being held in Israeli prisons, including hundreds without charge or trial. There is hardly a neighborhood or village in the West Bank that does not have at least a few youths being held in Israeli custody.
