According to official figures issued this week in Amman, the unemployment rate in the kingdom has reached 11.9% during the fourth quarter of 2010 with a decrease of three-tenths of a percentage point compared with the fourth quarter of 2009, also with a decrease of 1.6% percentage points compared with the previous quarter. The males' unemployment rate has reached 10% while it was 20.1% for females for the same period (thus decreasing by 0.2 percentage points compared with the same quarter of 2009 for females).
The data shows that unemployment rate is still high between the university degree holders (Bachelor degree and higher) by 15.5% compared with the other educational levels, this rate has decreased three-tenths of percentage point compared with the same quarter of 2009. Male unemployed percentage of bachelor holders and higher was (21%) and (64%) for females which is varied according to educational level and sex.
