Danube names Uma Ghosh Deshpande as its Brand Ambassador

Danube Building Materials, a leader in construction, building materials and shop fitting industries, has named Dubai-based entrepreneur, TV producer, presenter and successful fashion designer Uma Ghosh Deshpande, as the new brand ambassador for its leading building and home materials retail chain, Danube Buildmart. The new Buildmart brand ambassador is expected to tap into a wider female consumer base, promoting the company’s 25,000 product portfolio of home and interior products and accessories, The move is also part of the company’s series of strategic initiatives that are aimed at increasing more awareness of the Buildmart brand and to further strengthen its market leadership in the Middle East region’s building and home materials segment.
Deshpande’s climb to success started when she won the Gladrags Mrs. India Pageant in 2005. During her reign as Mrs. India, Uma launched her own fashion label, ‘Pepper by Uma,’ and mounted the Middle East region’s first ever luxury lifestyle fashion TV show called ‘High Life Dubai—which has since evolved into being a trusted style guide and trend setter for its millions of viewers from across the Gulf region, North Africa, Pakistan and Nepal. The success and popularity of the show has led to Uma Ghosh being named as one of ‘Top five most influential Indian Women in the Gulf’ and ‘Best TV Presenter’ by leading UAE magazine, ‘Ahlan!’ She has also started her own production house, ‘Queen Bee Productions’.
