Capital Club welcomes Charging Bull sculptor as its newest distinguished member

Capital Club Dubai, the region's premier private business club and a member of the ENSHAA group of companies, have welcomed Italian-American artist Arturo Di Modica as a distinguished member of the club.

In a ceremony marking Di Modica’s initiation, Capital Club General Manager Bill Loveday said: By almost anyone’s standards, Arturo Di Modica’s Charging Bull has become one the most famous works of sculpture and a New York icon.  In recognition of his body of work and creativity, it is our privilege at the Capital Club, to welcome the sculptor to our ranks.”

Born in Sicily, Di Modica is best known for the above-mentioned sculpture – also known as the Wall Street Bull – which he installed without permission in front of the New York Stock Exchange in December 1989. He created a similar version of the original Charging Bull – one which draws from Western and Chinese culture and looks younger and stronger – for authorities in Shanghai in 2010.

Di Modica, who lives in New York City, is a recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor for his creativity and spirit, and has also been honored by the National Italian American Foundation and the New York City Council.
