Zayed International Airport was named the world’s most beautiful airport by the Prix Versailles Awards for Architecture and Design.
The airport can accommodate up to 45 million passengers annually and it features outstanding architectural and interior design. The award was announced during a ceremony held at UNESCO headquarters in Paris.

“In just one year of operation, Zayed International Airport claimed the top spot in this highly coveted category amid strong global competition to set a new standard for airport excellence worldwide,” according to Emirates News Agency (WAM).
Zayed International Airport received this award due to its blend of modern technology and the UAE’s rich cultural heritage. Notably, the airport spans 742,000 square meters and can accommodate nearly 11,000 passengers per hour as well as 79 aircraft.
Additionally, Zayed International Airport can handle up to 45 million passengers annually and employs around 25,000 staff members. The management also plans to launch nine biometric identity checkpoints by 2025, the first ever in the world.
