ALBAWABA - In a recent development, YouTube has declared its stance against users employing ad-blockers via browser extensions. The platform will no longer permit users who employ ad-blocking extensions to watch videos.
This decision came in response to numerous complaints from users regarding intrusive ads, leading YouTube to introduce its Premium subscription system. With Premium subscriptions, users enjoy ad-free video viewing.
However, some users had managed to bypass ads without subscribing by utilizing ad-blocker extensions.
To address this, YouTube has now implemented measures redirecting users to either purchase a Premium subscription or disable the ad-blocker extension when they attempt to block ads via extensions.
These anti-ad-block tests have been completed, and YouTube has expanded this feature to include users in Turkey.
This move signals YouTube's commitment to maintaining its ad-driven revenue model and providing a seamless viewing experience for all users.
