ALBAWABA – While Samsung still keeps the details of the Galaxy Ring in the shadows despite teasers and official announcement, leaks have surfaced about the ring’s details, including expected price, and a possible monthly subscription for access to some features.
Yogesh Brar, an information leaker who has a track record of accurately predicting Samsung devices, claims that Samsung intends to charge a selling price between $300 and $350 for the Galaxy Ring, Android Authority cites an interview with him, no sources were disclosed.
On top of the hefty price tag, Brar adds in his interview that Samsung could possibly charge a monthly subscription of about $10 a month for users to access advanced features, similar to what Oura, Samsung’s biggest competitor in the smart ring field, charges to unlock blood oxygen monitoring, in-depth insights and analysis, and more.
On the other hand, Samsung’s biggest competitor in the smart ring field, Oura, sells its Ring starting at a price of $299, with a monthly subscription at $5 a month, with Samsung potentially following suit in a pricier spot.
Monthly subscriptions in smart wearables are quite common, as Apple and Google does, but when it comes to Samsung’s Smart Watch 6, no extra fees are to be expected, making a monthly charge on the Samsung Galaxy Ring a significant shift for the Tech giant.
