Five joint cooperation agreements have been concluded between Yemen and the United Arab Emirates concerning economic and trade issues, technology, health, agriculture and labor. These will be added to previous agreements between the two countries, involving information and culture, security and air transport.
The new agreements were signed during the course of a meeting of the Emirates-Yemen Ministerial Committee, which met in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa at the end of last week.
The meeting was co-chaired by Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the UAE minister of state for foreign affairs, and Abdul Qadir Bajmal, the Yemeni deputy premier and foreign minister.
Bajmal stressed the importance of Sheikh Hamdan's visit to Yemen, and noted that the governments of the two countries were committed to maintaining their long-standing bilateral relationship. Sheikh Hamdan expressed the UAE's willingness to strengthen relations with Yemen in all areas. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
