ALBAWABA - Qatar’s Ministry of the Interior said that debris fell inside the country following the interception of Iranian missiles and drones, leaving three people injured, including a child.
"The injured are receiving the necessary care," the ministry announced Sunday.
Jordan's military source from the Jordan Armed Forces announced to Al Mamlaka TV that three missiles fired by Iran fell inside the country, but no injuries were reported.
Iran launched missile and drone attacks on Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Qatar and Oman. In addition, the UAE announced it intercepted missile and drone threats, Al Jazeera reported Sunday.
Iranian authorities closed the Strait of Hormuz until further notice after firing a naval cruise missile at a vessel that was attempting to sail along an unapproved route, state media in Tehran announced.
The attacks came after the U.S. announcement of starting a third round of attacks targeting Tehran this week, accusing it of attacking a Cyprus-flagged container ship in the Strait of Hormuz.
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said early hours of Sunday, "At 7:15 p.m. ET today, U.S. Central Command forces began launching the third round of strikes this week against Iran after Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces blatantly attacked M/V GFS Galaxy, a Cyprus-flagged container ship transiting the Strait of Hormuz. A civilian crew member is missing and the vessel is unable to continue the journey due to an onboard fire and significant engineroom damage."
It added, "Iran was provided yet another opportunity to demonstrate adherence to the Memorandum of Understanding after being held accountable for earlier attacks on commercial vessels but has again failed. In response, the United States is imposing a heavy cost by continuing to degrade Iran’s ability to attack civilian mariners and commercial ships freely transiting the strait. The strikes are being carried out at the direction of the Commander in Chief."
U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth added a statement via his X account, "Iran made a poor choice. Now they pay."
