Xerox Egypt (XE) has created a brand new network of 22 partner companies across the cuntry, creating more than 100 executive jobs.

Eleven of the business solution giant's new partners were established in the last 12 months, 8 in the last three months. The new partnership network is expected to contribute over 20 percent of Xerox revenues this fiscal year. "Our focus is firmly on providing our customers with the very best service possible--wherever they are," remarked Bron Curley, General Manager of Xerox Egypt. "Today our new partnership network comprehensively covers the whole country and is an integral part of our long term commitment to constantly improving our customer communication, information and service."

Although the initial impetus for the move was provided by the company's desire to service the remote areas of the nation, the company has expanded its plans by creating new partnerships in major centres such as Cairo and Alexandria - where XE does more than 80 percent of its business. Six of the new partnerships are located in Cairo, while two are in Alexandria.

The new partnership network intensifies XE's existing sales force across Egypt, and doubles its market coverage. Each new partner company offers Xerox's entire product range, from its low volume and departmental solutions to paper and supplies.

Xerox, the world's largest maker of copier devices, implemented an intricate support structure to aid its partners. A Xerox team was assigned to each partner to offer help and advice, with periodic instructional forums scheduled for the future.

"Companies in a vibrant ambitious economy like ours must be able to easily access the best business tools available to help fuel their continued success," said Mr. Curley.

Xerox Middle East recently announced that a new president was appointed to manage its operations in the Middle East and Africa. Richard P. Adamo, previously Chief of Staff of Xerox Developing Markets Operations, will also take charge of Xerox operations in Russia and Eurasia - uniting three Xerox trading regions into a single entity of 85 countries.

"Taking a very long-term view on the potential for growth in this region is highly important," said Nauzar Manekshaw, Xerox Regional Marketing Manager.
