WWA Group recorded gross auction sales exceeding $23 million at its latest public sale held on the premises of the group's operating subsidiary, WWA World Wide Auctioneers in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The auction, which took place on October 11-13, attracted 450 registered bidders from 22 countries. "We had sellers from all over the world provide 1,400 equipment items to our auction intending to capitalize on our large base of local and international buyers," commented president of WWA Group, Carl van Lieshout.
Lieshout noted that buyers from outside the UAE accounted for more than 56 percent of the equipment purchased at the auction. Internet bidding was utilized during the auction with 34 registered Internet bidders vying to place successful bids online through GoIndustry's Web cam facility that broadcast the auction live over the Internet.
WWA also held a virtual video auction for equipment that had not yet arrived in Dubai, selling 41 lots for gross sales of more than $1.1 million.
Gross auction sales from auctions in Dubai and Jakarta, Indonesia have totaled more than $84 million this year with management projecting total gross auction sales of $120 million by the year’s end.
