ALBAWABA - Recent technical reports reveal that the encrypted instant messaging app, WhatsApp, is currently testing an important new feature on its Android version, which allows converting voice messages into written text.

This feature enables reading voice messages without the need to listen to them, which is useful in crowded places or when quiet is needed. This feature also assists people with hearing difficulties in understanding voice messages easily and allows reading messages without having to play them aloud, thus maintaining user privacy in public places.

The reports indicate that the feature is currently available in the Beta version 2.24.15.5 for selected users. After logging into the beta version, users will find a conversion button next to the voice messages.

By pressing the button, the voice message will be converted to text displayed below it. It is important to note that this feature currently supports the following languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, and Hindi.

The reports noted that there is no specific date for the official release of the feature to all WhatsApp users on Android. However, this feature has been available since last May on the version of the app running on iOS operating systems.

WhatsApp had previously launched a major update across its various versions, introducing many great features that enhance the communication experience among users.

Users can now make group video calls with up to 32 participants on all devices, including Android, iOS, Windows, and macOS. The feature of automatically focusing on the speaker during group video calls has also been improved, allowing users to see the speaker more clearly. Additionally, the display of participants in group video calls has been expanded, enabling users to see more friends and family members on the screen. The quality of audio sharing during video calls has also been improved, ensuring a clearer and purer audio experience.

WhatsApp has also enabled the ability to archive and transfer message contents easily from one device to another using QR codes. This feature is useful for changing phones or transferring user data to another device and is currently being tested on Android devices.
