Wataniya Telecom has reported that its Action services are now accessible throughout Kuwait, with the completion of the second and final phase of GPRS coverage roll out in the country.

Previously, GPRS services covered areas from the 6th Ring Road to inside Kuwait City, including Kuwait’s International Airport.

“Expanding the GPRS coverage from Kuwait city to cover the entire country means our subscribers can now have access to Internet-related services via their mobiles, as well as subscribe to the richest range of MMS and GPRS based services that our Action services deliver,” said Assistant General Manager of Wataniya Telecom, Fuad Al-Ablani.

Launched in July by Wataniya, Action delivers a range of MMS and GRPS related services to mobile phone users in Kuwait. Action subscribers can send and receive photo messaging, access Arabic comics, Qu’ranic verses, wallpapers, screensavers, cartoons and horoscopes, compose and send greeting cards and access the Internet as well as email accounts.

Launched in 1999, Wataniya Telecom is the second GSM mobile operator in the state of Kuwait. With a market capitalization exceeding $1.75 billion, the company recently expanded internationally by acquiring 50 percent of the second licensed mobile telecommunications operator in Tunisia, and thus co-managing it with its original owner. — (menareport.com)
