ALBAWABA - Volvo, the Swedish automaker under Geely's ownership, has taken the wraps off its latest creation, the 2024 Volvo EM90 mini van. The highly-anticipated vehicle is set to make its global debut on November 12, 2023, and, in a trendsetting move, images have already surfaced on the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) website.

The EM90 is Volvo's first mini-van, featuring design similarities with the Zeekr 009 in certain elements. However, it differentiates itself with a unique front fascia, distinct headlights, and a body-colored panel in place of a traditional shiny car grille.

The rear design has also been subtly modified to align more closely with Volvo's established image, with a similar rear door layout and camera placement below the license plate.

While the 2024 Volvo EM90 may appear less attention-grabbing compared to the Zeekr 009, both models offer their unique features and design elements.

The EM90 features a rear-mounted electric motor with 200 kW (268 horsepower), while the Zeekr 009 is more powerful with two motors, producing 536 horsepower and all-wheel drive. The Zeekr 009 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and uses a lithium-nickel-manganese-cobalt battery pack from CATL, while specific battery details for the EM90 are pending disclosure.

The EM90's dimensions are notable, measuring 5206 mm in length, 2024 mm in width, and 1859 mm in height, offering space for six passengers and coming with wheel options of 19 and 20 inches.

As the countdown to its global debut continues, the Volvo EM90 mini van is poised to usher in a new era for the Swedish automaker, pushing the boundaries of their traditional vehicle offerings and embracing the world of electric mini vans.
