Dubai, UAE; October 9, 2010: Powerstar, the most efficient voltage optimisation system available from the UK, has been recently introduced to UAE-based companies by EMSc UK Ltd during a seminar held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center.
The seminar is timely as the UAE is officially associated with the Copenhagen Accord, the general agreement on climate change limiting economic impacts on oil producers and supporting carbon capture technology and nuclear energy.
It was an opportunity for the UAE-based companies to learn the technology behind voltage optimisation and how it can help them reduce energy consumption and their carbon footprint.
According to EMSc UK Ltd, voltage optimisation works by lowering the incoming voltage to more accurately meet the loading requirements of machinery, equipment and lighting in a building. Powerstar operates ensures that incoming power matches the needs of the site through a uniquely designed system. Powerstar guarantees savings from costly electricity bills while increasing the life expectancy of electrical accessories, equipment and machineries.
The unit has an efficiency of 99.91%; the highest currently sold in the UK, ensuring that it maximises energy savings for a specific voltage reduction. Powerstar can therefore cut electricity costs by up to 26% and can lower CO2 emissions.
Dr. Alex Mardapittas, Managing Director of EMSc UK Ltd and Powerstar designer explained: “Payback period for Powerstar is typically between one year to more than two years. As we design and manufacture the Powerstar system, we fully understand how and where it works best. Voltage optimisation is not about selling boxes, it’s about designing an engineering solution for your building. This is exactly what Powerstar does.”
Powerstar has been awarded the prestigious Made In Sheffield accolade in recognition of the manufacturing quality of the product. Voltage optimisation is one of the fastest growing energy saving techniques in the UK and Europe.
For his part, Samer Merhby, Country Manager of Wildcat Oil Services, the exclusive distributor of Powerstar in the UAE added: “We are excited about this new venture especially that it comes at a time when a lot of UAE companies are looking for energy saving solutions and ways to lower carbon emissions.”
Powerstar is being used in the UK by small to medium enterprises, blue chip companies in the retail, education, leisure, manufacturing, finance, construction sectors and by government and local authorities such as the London City Hall and Environmental Agency.
