Every year an estimated 2.5 million young persons, between the ages of 15-24, join the unemployment market of the Arab World. This assesment, appearing in Al-Hayat, was joined by additional data pertaining to the unemployment rates in the region.
According to a recent study conducted by the Arab Industrial and Mining Development Organization, the current rate of unemployment in the Arab World is 14 percent, translating to a total of 12.5 million people out of work. The same study criticized the governments and public sectors, claiming that these maintain a decreasing role in providing jobs for those seeking them. –(Albawaba-MEBG)
