International law firm Clyde & Co has entered into an exclusive co-operation agreement with one of Iraq's foremost law offices, Numan Shakir Numan of Baghdad. Through this agreement the firms will be able to provide a legal framework for companies conducting business in Iraq.

The senior partner, Numan, a former President of the Iraqi Bar Association, acts for some of the largest private enterprises in Iraq. His office is one of the leading practices in the country calling upon the services of a number of specialized lawyers.

Clyde & Co already has an Iraqi-qualified lawyer in its London office, Zainab Al-Qirnawi, and will primarily advise companies wanting help and assistance in Iraq in co-operation with the Numan law office.

Iraqi companies wishing to contract outside Iraq will be able to call upon their services. There has already been significant interest in trademark issues in the Iraqi market.

Clyde & Co already has a Middle East regional office with its headquarters in Dubai which offers legal services in the areas of corporate, company/commercial, finance, construction, shipping, marine, international trade and transport, insurance, reinsurance, litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution, IT, e-commerce, media and intellectual property. The firm also has an office at Dubai Media City. — (menareport.com)
