The bye-laws of the landmark free property law may be enacted as early as the first quarter of next year, a senior government official said, according to Khaleej Times. This would enable expatriates to own free hold properties on 99-years lease.

Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, chairman of Aldar Properties, said that the law has been instrumental in multiplying the scope of property development in the emirate.
