Turkey generated close to $300 million in carpet exports last year and earned $1.2 billion from internal tourist carpet sales during the same period, stated Deputy Chairman of the Turkish Chamber of Commerce for the province of Konya, Seyit Karaca.
The United States is the most important export market for Turkish carpets, accounting for almost 24 percent of total annual sales. Other major handmade carpet export markets include Germany, United Kingdom, Japan, Spain and Saudi Arabia. — (menareport.com)
