Tenders were opened Tuesday for construction of 13 bridges as part of the Durrat Al Bahrain residential and resort city, which is being built in the south of Bahrain. According to GDN, the structures are estimated to cost BD20 million and have a combined length of 3.5 kilometres.
Seven pre-qualified companies were invited to submit tenders in late April. Five tenders have been submitted, including a joint tender by two companies. The seventh company withdrew.
The contract will be awarded within six weeks.
