Telematics installs technology for CBD's new headquarters

Telematics Networking and Communications, information and communications technology infrastructure company, announced that they are networking the new headquarters for Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD). 

 

One of Dubai's leading banks with 33 years banking experience and rated as one of the top 1,000 banks worldwide, CBD have chosen to bring in Telematics to implement a Structured Cabling System for the purpose of integrating all the voice, data and low voltage systems onto a common platform.  

 

Commercial Bank of Dubai has invested 36.7 million Emirati dirhams in their latest Information Technology (IT) upgrade.  

 

CBD’s new headquarters, which will include nine floors, a penthouse and three parking levels, is due to be completed by December 2002. When completed, CBD's management expectes its ‘intelligent building’ headquarters to be the most technologically advanced building in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). 

 

Telematics will be laying 217 kilometers of cable for this project, which if run from Abu Dhabi would reach Ras Al-Khaimah. The Structured Cabling System will be based on Avaya Communication's, Systimax GigaSPEED SCS system along with other components such as over 4,000 copper outlets and 214 fiber outlets spread throughout the entire building. 

 

Commercial Bank of Dubai was established in 1969, as a Public Shareholding Company by an Emir Decree. CBD offers its customers a full range of retail and commercial banking services with a network of 16 branches and four cash offices throughout the UAE. In 2001, Commercial Bank of Dubai reported a record net profit of Dh216.4 million, with a return on equity of 15.8 percent and total assets of Dh7,354 million. — (menareport.com)
