The Telecom Egypt company and the US-based Telegroup recently signed an agreement for the establishment of a new international telecommunication link using fiber optic cables, reported Al-Alam Al-Yaum. The connection is expected to become fully operational by the year’s end.

Chief Director of Telegroup Richard Broly stated that Egypt will install the new connection in order to provide service to local service providers as well as to companies throughout the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

Telecom Egypt was established 1918 as the Egyptian Telegraph and Telephone Administration. The company offers a wide range of telecommunication products for personal, residential, business, corporate and Internet, using underground or submarine cables in addition to satellite as different type of transmission media. — (menareport.com)
