The government of Syria is planning to establish a new oil refinery in the city of Deir El-Zour with an initial capacity of 60,000 barrels per day (bpd), with potential to double its output to 120,000 bpd in the future, reported ksa Today . The new refinery is expected to produce enough oil to meet the demands of the northern area of Syria. The government also intends to expand the oil refineries in Homs and Banyas.
