Syria became a member on Saturday October 13 of the World Bank's Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), the official SANA news agency reported.
President Bashar Al-Assad signed into effect a law providing for Syrian membership in the agency, which offers political risk insurance to investors and lenders and helps developing countries attract and retain private investment. — (AFP, Damascus)
